The Children’s School at Saint John’s provides developmentally appropriate programs for children ages three months through five years, serving families of Saint Joseph’s University, The Church of Saint John Lower Merion, and the broader community. We value the uniqueness of every child. Our curriculum supports each child’s social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical growth, reflecting the belief that young children learn best through active play, exploration, meaningful experiences, and opportunities to succeed. It is grounded in widely accepted theories and principles of child growth and development.
The Children’s School at Saint John’s supports each child’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development. Through hands-on learning and thoughtfully designed classroom interest areas, children are encouraged to explore, grow, and learn at their own pace. We are committed to providing a safe, warm, and nurturing community that respects each child’s individual needs and interests.
The Children’s School at Saint John’s was established in November 1996 through a partnership between Saint Joseph’s University and Saint John’s Episcopal Church.
Our goal is to help young children learn through play in an enriching environment, supported by caring staff who nurture each child’s curiosity, creativity, and self-confidence.
The Children’s School at Saint John’s is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The school has also earned a four-star rating from Keystone STARS, the highest rating available, recognizing programs that exceed state health and safety licensing requirements. This distinction reflects our commitment to continually strengthening our standard of care and providing a high-quality child care environment that supports children’s social and emotional development, learning skills, and school readiness.
The Children's School at St Johns welcomes children of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to children a the school.
Prior to the child's enrollment, an initial meeting with the parent/guardian and the child is required to acquaint each new family with the environment, teachers and the schedule of the program. During the visit, the parent/guardian will have a personal meeting with the Director, an
